IDEC AGRO & Factory, the subsidiary of the IDEC GROUP, which specialises in the design and construction of turnkey projects for the food sector invited around fifty students from the IUT in Rennes (Ille-et-Vilaine) to visit the building site for the SILL GROUP project.
A STRONG PARTNERSHIP
IDEC AGRO & Factory, the Rennes-based subsidiary of the IDEC GROUP and the IUT in Rennes have been in a partnership since last summer that aims to strengthen the links between the firm and students with measures put in place by Sébastien CONAN, the Managing Director of IDEC AGRO & Factory. Several measures are already in place, including presentations by staff of their work for the firm, involvement in classes and other ways for students to immerse themselves in the world of work.
50 STUDENTS CAME TOGETHER TO VISIT THE BUILDING SITE
The first major event took place last week at one of IDEC AGRO & Factory’s flagship projects, the future milk powder processing unit for the SILL Group in Landivisiau. After a presentation of the firm by the Head of building work and works engineer, the fifty students were able to visit the site on which a 19,300 m² project is being built. The students in theri second year of the Civil Engineering diploma were able to see what work is like in the construction sector and talk to the professionals, who presented their jobs.
THE SILL GROUP BUILDING SITE – AN EXCEPTIONAL PROJECT
The site for the SILL Group, currently being developed by the teams from IDEC AGRO & Factory, represents an exceptional project, the erection of which requires 27 months of work. This highly technical project should come into service at the end of 2020 producing 20,000 tonnes of baby milk powder each year.
